Humane Society visit
Yesterday, the Humane Society came to our class to teach us about responsible pet care. We had already learned about the needs of animals (food, water, air and shelter) and our guest speaker taught us that pets also need medical care, grooming and love. The highlight of the visit was interacting with Oakley, a Lionhead rabbit.

Goal
Yesterday we set goals for ourself. To improve our skills, we need to recognize areas requiring growth. In the next few weeks we will be working towards our goals and assessing how we have done. Ask your child about his or her goal for the month.

Weaselhead Field Trip
On Wednesday our class went to Weaselhead/Glenmore Park to learn more about small crawling and flying animals. The children were very excited to study the invertebrates found in the pond using magnifying boxes. They were able to figure out what the various invertebrates were, using identification cards. Using a hands-on approach helped them to develop a deeper understanding of these creatures and the environment they live in.
