Field Trip to Telus Spark

On Monday we went to Telus Spark to learn more about boats as well as structures and buildings. Our first task was to determine which items float and which sink.

We thought light items will float but learned that it's objects with air in them that float the best.

Next, we designed a boat using found materials. Each group was assigned a specific type of boat such as, sailboat, barge, tugboat, cruise and cargo ships.

The last task was to test the boats to make sure they would float! We placed our boats in the large water table and watch them float downstream.
